in memoriam Page 2 Enid Miller Hoffman was affectionately known as Doc to hundreds of people. She liked all kinds of people, and they liked her. She believed in people and showed that belief by giving them jobs to do, responsibilities to be lived up to, and trusts to be fulfilled. People stood taller because of her belief in them. Doc believed that Hthe show must go on. She did not just mean the show in her speech department and in the Plainsman Theater. She meant the whole Wesleyan show. She was loyal to the school-its ideals, its interests, and its program. Her interests were broad, and they live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Doc Miller was well-known as a writer of plays. Two of her greatest are The Lesser George, and Manya, the story of the life of Madame Marie Curie, which she wrote in collaboration with her husband in 1942. Her latest work, An Angel in the Sun, was produced last summer as the high spot in the Centennial celebration of the Methodist Church in Nebraska. C twig 1, 1
