SHIVELY Reverent as a seeker after truth Inspiring as a teacher Gracious as a counselor Faithful as a friend Dr. Shively, during his five years upon the campus as Professor of Biology and Chair- man of the Division of Natural Sciences, became an imperishable part of Nebraska Wes- leyan. From his vast store of scientific knowledge he contributed richly to his studentsg to them he communicated his love of birds and trees and flowers. Within the confines of his department he presented the techniques of scientific learningg in the larger laboratory of human relations he demonstrated the art of happy, courageous living.
