Homecoming: Enthusiastic New enthusiasm characterized the 1980-’81 Homecoming week. More people became involved in the contests than in previous years. This year included the first street pep rally from NCHS. The pep rallies were crazy, which fired up everyone for the Homecoming Week. Monday, the Seniors had the most enthusiasm for hat, tie, and shades day. Tuesday the juniors had to sweat-to-win during sweat-em-up day. Wednesday was cowboy and cowgirl day. Everyone rounded up in the gym for a pyramid contest that the Seniors won. Thursday was twin day. Many were involved in dressing like someone else. The Seniors and the Teachers tied for first place. Thursday evening was filled with a lot of enthusiasm as NCHS had its first street rally held between main street and First Avenue beside the Farmers Bank. This included a tricycle race the juniors won. Friday was Purple and Gold day. Everyone wore Purple and Gold to show their spirit behind their team. Left: Jeff Newby and Jim O'Bryan on Twin Day.
