DEDICATION We dedicate the 1980 Pioneer, Decades of Destiny to the fine people of Nebraska City, who, through their generous help and financial backing, made this annual possible. After a successful effort by the “Otoe County Taxpayers Association” to limit the property tax portion of the school district’s budget to zero percent, the school board eliminated the yearbook as part of the cost cutting necessitated by their obligation. Concerned Citizens and parents came together and formed the Nebraska City Pioneer Yearbook Boosters. Through their efforts, the financial backing of the community, and the students who worked on the yearbook staff after school hours, the 1980 Pioneer became a reality. TO THE PEOPLE OF NEBRASKA CITY, WE SAY THANK YOG the staff
