ENGLISH Mr. Kettlehut Mrs. Berger English is one of the more important subjects in our education. Literature,composition, and the English language are the basis of almost all other fields. The sophomore courses deal with speech, rhetoric of sentence and paragraph structure, mythology, and a little literature. American literature, phonemics, and advanced study of rhetoric keep the juniors on their toes. Thanks to the remarkable William Shakespeare, the seniors study tragedies, epics, and novels. Everyone tries to gain a bunch of knowledge. Educational television also assists some of the classes. As I was saying . . . 8 Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum. Where's my bottle of coke?

OFFICE PERSONNEL Mrs. Martin Phones ringing, voices humming, typewriters clicking—these are the sounds of the NCHS office. The office staff has the multiple job of handling money and attendance, typing forms, giving announcements, and keeping the coffee pot going in the faculty lounge. One of the most difficult jobs is answering the many questions asked by students, teachers, parents, and the public. Mrs. Hayes Sorry, you have a bad case of. . . Hard at work ? ? ? SCHOOL NURSES The nurse's office is constantly buzzing with students who are ill and many who just hope they are. The well-being of the students is assured by the nurse who checks their health and is on hand for all emergencies. Her daily duty is to visit the schools and take the ill students home. MATH AND SCIENCE The science and math departments are the essential parts of our space age world. These classes aid students in solving the problems of today and tomorrow and encourages further endeavors. Three years of science are available to our students, however, only one year is required. Biology, natural science, chemistry, physics, and physical science are the available courses. Courses available in the math department are first and second year algebra, geometry, and math analysis for seniors. F Mrs. Ott Mr. McGaffey Math class ? ? ? ? ?
