Business As A Successful Career Mr. Abernathy Actual experience in the classroom. Typing I and office practice are the most common courses in our business department. Bookkeeping, a very important subject for a business student, is offered for either one or two semesters. Business English and Business Law are also incorporated in this department. Shorthand I and II are offered as business experience courses also. These courses offer a chance for the student to get practical experience in the field in which they are most interested and to give them a large area from which to choose. Math and Science Keep Us Thinking Lab is the fun part of Chemistry A basic understanding of science and math are important in today's space age world. The ability to understand equations and experiments may help the students to solve problems throughout their lives. Beyond ninth grade one more year of science is required, and for the more scientific-minded, three years are available. A choice of subjects include: biology, natural science, chemistry, physics, and physical science. Vocational Skills are Essential Home Ec students model clothing projects Nebraska City High School sees the need of comprehensive vocational courses as a sound foothold on the ladder of success. Non college-bound students all have a variety of courses to choose from to give them a start in the right direction. Agriculture is the basis of our Midwestern economy. A complete four year vocational course is provided for our Future Farmers of America. Metal shop, wood shop, advanced shop,plus mechanical drawing are courses designed and offered for the mechanically minded students.
