DEDICATION Florence Ma Barta has been friend and mother to a great many students who have passed through the doors of N.C.H.S. Ma Barta was graduated from Wayne High School and Wayne State Teacher's College. She taught and was Superintendent of Dunbar Schools. She married Jim Barta and during World War II, she returned to the teaching profession after rearing twin daughters . Mrs. Barta came to the N.C.H.S. School system in January of 1946. She became Otoean adviser in January of 1947, and in 1948 produced the first Pioneer annual. She has been active in her community as well as the state. She was elected President of the State High School Press Association in 1954. She is still active in D.A.R., Methodist Church, and Ladies Lionettes . We of the Pioneer staff on behalf of the faculty and student body would like to say Congratulations and thanks for your sincere devotion! 3
