TWIRLERS: Karen Renken, Nichi Cress, Linda Neeley, Diann Eltiste, Sherry Mounce, Gayle Schreiter, Carolyn Freeman. The marching Pioneers of NCHS shouldered the task of providing musical entertainment for a vast number of students and guests. In September they participated in the Syracuse Marching Clinic and the Ak-Sar-Ben Marching Contest. During October they entertained at half-time shows at all home football games and traveled to Falls City to present the halftime entertainment for the game. In November the band marched in competition at the State Marching Contest in Lincoln. Under the direction of James Imig, the Concert Band presented the Winter and the Spring Concerts. The main feature of the Winter Concert was the presentation of Mr. Wesley Reist, professor ofWood-winds at the University of Nebraska, as guest artist. Several small groups also performed in musical recitals during the school year for the student body.
