u I u r e a rm e r 3 merica Building lor the future The Future Farmers of America began the school year by conducting the traditional Freshman Initiation. It was not long before their effort and seriousness of purpose became evident by the bulging walls of the Ag Shop and the many outstanding ratings received in various contests. The most significant of these was the second place rating received by Randell Selby, Ron Jay, Gary Malzer, and Dale Everett in the state-wide Land Judging Contest. It was not, of course, all work and no play for the Ag boys. The year was highlighted by the annual F.F.A. Banquet and F.F.A. Sweetheart Dance, and an educational trip to Kansas City to visit cooperative businesses which included an oil refinery, an experimental farm, a fertilizer plant, and the Board of Trade. 12 ROW ONE: Wurtele, Jay, Everett, Baltensperger.Guhde, Easter.
