JJo m e m a L er A J JL meric a The Future Homemakers of America began their year with fifty-five members. They set out with the purpose of living up to the F.H.A. motto, ’’Toward New Horizons.” This motto is an infinite challenge and expresses the ideal of the organization, ’’Learning to live better today in order that their lives and those of their families may be better tomorrow.” After the installation of officers in October, the girls began the year's activities with great enthusiasm. The first event of the year was the Career Conference Luncheon on November 1. The members of F.H.A. were responsible for serving the meal. For fund raising projects, the girls sponsored a bake sale in November. During FHA week, April 1-6, they painted the barrel, held a car wash, sponsored a chili supper, and wrote articles for the NEWSPRESS. They sponsored a Mother-Daughter Banquet in May to honor their mothers. Throughout the year, the F.H.A. sponsored several locker clean-ups for the entire student body. All of these activities kept the Future Hojne-makers very busy. 10 ROW ONE: Mrs. Blere, Eloge, Peterson, Holmes, Liesemeyer, Halm, Brannon, Miss Eggen.
