Student Council members make plans for another project. The purpose of Student Council is to develop attitudes of good citizenship, promote harmonious relations throughout the entire school, improve relations with other schools, improve student-teacher relationship, improve school morale, assist in the management of the school, provide a mode of student expression, provide orderly direction of school activities, and promote the general welfare of the school. Under the able guidance of Peter J. Neidl, the Council carried out numerous projects this year with the aim of fulfilling its purpose. Among the activities were assistance with Career Conference, aid in establishing a new system of class elections, assistance with Homecoming festivities, sponsorship of a ”Twirp Week” and a Sadie Hawkins Day Dance, hosting of the Auburn and Plattsmouth Student Councils, and inauguration of monthly patriotic programs. The highlight of the Council's year was the planning and sponsorship of Fun Night. With the leadership and hard work of this group, the students of N.C.H.S. succeeded in netting over $600 from the event to help finance the 1963 PIONEER. 6 ROW ONE: Give hand, Emery, Crum, Barton, Slemp.
