ENGLISH IS A MUST FOR COLLEGE ENTRANCE YVONNE JONES ELLEN ALBER English Languages Nebraska City extends to their students a variety of courses which include: business, general, college preparatory, and industrial. These courses and studies instruct and prepare students for a useful, prosperous, and happy life in the years to come. The English department strides to aid the student in perfecting English fundamentals necessary in gaining sufficient knowledge for all scholastic fields. The freshmen gain knowledge through composition and reading skills. Training in Speech and Journalism is available for the sophomores. Juniors explore the American and English classics. Seniors planning to attend college polish their English with a college preparatory course. Those not planning to go on to school may enroll in business English to prepare them for their careers in that field. The Sophomores are taught World History from the beginning of Civilization to our present era. American History, from the time of the Mayflower until the present day, is conveyed to Juniors. The Seniors complete their final year of high school history with the course of Modern Problems, a Social, Political and Economical study of American life.
