SENIORS Escape To The Mountains On March 2, 1985 at 10:15 p.m., the N.C. bus left school and started an all-night trip to Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je in Colorado. There were a few faithful mountain lovers who stayed awake all night to catch the first glimpse of the mountains. Sunday morning, 11 after getting unpacked, we had a worship service with Mr. Neely, our speaker for the week. Monday and Tuesday the class went to Breckenridge to ski. Wednes- day was spent in Denver shopping and eating at Casa Bonita. Each evening Mr. Neely conducted a service. He built his talks on the theme of committing our lives to God and really working for Him. We also enjoyed times of games and songs. Thursday, March 7, 23 left for home. This year we have learned a lot about coopera- tion and tolerance in class meetings. Taking care of the candy store after school, keeping pop machines working, setting up to sell popcorn and candy at games, and cleaning up afterwards has taught us a new sense of responsibility. We had a good year, and we are looking forward to a great senior year. 23 UNDERCLASSMEN Sophomores Susanne Ackles Melissa Anderson Kyle Berck Mark Binder Clint Bokelman Lynette Clevenger Randy Dockweiler Sheila Ehrismann Beth Elsberry Kayla Fling Matthew Graf Shelli Grosch Patrick Harvey Robyn Jividen Stephanie Nelson Sharron Parsons Daurice Pizzolato Brad Poland Candace Otott Penny Rowse Becky Sawyer Kay Schubert Robin Sorensen Charity Till Sec'y-Treas. We are now the largest class and dominate in several areas. We are a unique class and have a variety of talents. We have a number of Sophomores on the varsity volley- ball and football teams. Also a number of us are in choir, band, girls glee, and booster club. Our class this year has taken on a lot more responsibility. The neatest thing we have learned is how to get along with all of our classmates. It shows in our caring for each other and in our unity. Students came from all across Nebraska to begin their first year of High School at N.C. There were many adjustments to make. Many had not been away from home for a very long period of time so therefore dorm life was a big adjustment. The stu- dents in the class have enjoyed getting to know one another and have learned from each others mistakes. The class is a very open and friendly class that makes them well liked by all. Pastor Elsberry shared during the Fall Spiritual Emphasis Meet- ings, and Jim Anderson spoke to us dur- ing the winter meetings. These were both very concentrated times spent with God and in God's Word. Mr. Musgrave and Mr. Pearson spoke to us regularly throughout the year. Great is the Lord, He is holy and just, by His power we trust in His love. That song has been a_ special favorite with choir members this year. It has been a challenge to sing meaning- fully as we have travelled throughout Nebraska ministering in churches. Under the direction of Mr. H. K. Sawyer, the choir practiced diligently three times weekly in preparation for clinics and contests, as well as tours. One of the highlights of the year was the Grace Music Festival which allowed us to join with about 200 young people from Christian High Schools in praising God. We have appreciated the opportu- nities we had to minister, as well as Attention during practices to grow individually. yields good concerts. CHRISTAIN VOLLEYBALL PLAY ON FRIDAY ‘at AT LEIGH SAT 7:30 ar | Satta Finishing with a record of 13 wins and 5 losses, the 1984 Volleyball Team experienced a great year. In our first year in the Goldenrod Conference, we came out of the conference tournament with a respectable third place trophy. Deb Larsen was selected to be a member of the all-tourney team, as well as the year-end All-Conference Team. Other members of the All-Conference Teams included Anita Adams, second team, and Robyn Jividen and Shari Barnell, honor- able mention. At one point in the season we experienced a slump, but we recovered from that low with the leadership of Coaches Sue Wilgocki and Ed Ritta, the experience of the seniors, and _ the intensity of the younger players. In post-season play, we fought to earn two victories in the sub-districts. From there we went on to upset Stromsburg in the district play-off. That win allowed us to travel to Lincoln to participate in the State Tournament for the first time in the history of the school. At State we beat Wynot easily in the first game, but we were eliminated in that match. Even though we advanced no further, we will never forget the opportunity we had to participate in the State Tournament and stay in the Hilton. We praise God for our success and the unity and skill He gave us.
