Class of ’72 Our class of twenty-three seniors entered the administration building on August 24, 1971, for our last year of high school. We were all anxious for the completion of our last year. As the weeks went by, we became involved in many different areas of school life such as football, volleyball, cheerleading, and last but certainly not least, socializing. A short time later two senior boys ran for Senior Class officers: T. Hamilton, Student Rep.; R. Ballagh student body president, and many of us participated Secretary? D. Schumacher, Student Rep.; D. Shafer, Chapel Rep a wholeheartly, campaigning for the man of our choice. Honeywell, Treasurer; Mr. Johns, Sponsor; Mr. Calnan, Sponsor; D Ken Cooper won the election and began with prayer Oliphant, Business Mgr.; L. Johnson, President; K. Steffen, Vice for a successful year. President The House of Yesterday had quite a shaking up when all twenty-three of us came bounding in for a class ‘‘outing.’’ We spent the evening at a Grand Island park eating, feeding the ducks, and throwing things into the lake. A hat betrayed the cowboy in the group. Devotions ‘‘topped” our day together. Our senior pictures were returned to us just before Christmas, after many impatient trips to the office. December 14, an exciting presentation of Charles Dickens, “A Christmas Carol, ’ was given by the speech department featuring several seniors. Such things as ‘‘| don’t know what to do!” and “‘touch my robe!”’ were often heard thereafter in class. Alumni Day, we renewed old aquaintances, and friendships, and revived a courtship or two. The senior girls were victorious in volleyball, but in basketball the boys didn’t have that same luck. The senior girls proved their volleyball ability again as they were champions over all underclassmen at the dorm parties. Our class has never lost a girls’ volleyball game in the history of the dorm parties. Second semester, new students joined our class and filled the vacancies left by those who had departed. During the course of the year we voted in two presidents and three vice presidents, but surprisingly enough kept all the other officers the same. Spring brought a fresh look at old things taken for granted and sometimes ignored. A new outlook on life also began to form. Soon we would be out on our own making a go at life—a life which by no means would be easy, but with Christ in the center, we knew that all things were possible.
