ports Basketball Team Missed it by that much! That's the story of this year's basketball team. In the Boy's Club Tournament we blew a fifteen point lead in the last quarter of the final round and even- tually lost by two in overtime. We won the division title the hard way by winning a two game playoff but then lost by six in the semi- finals of the City Championship. It was the same story at the Annunciation Tournament this year, losing to St. Charles by one in the semi's and eventually taking third place by beating Visitation by two in a real crowd pleaser. Captain Dan Westmoreland played almost every minute of every game and led the Highwaymen to the best season we have ever had. Greg Knoblauch Scooter in the A Woolsey goes in for a lay-up against Visitation during the game for third pl nnunciation Invitational Tournament as Cl. to r.J Dave Novak, Tom Fleming Dan Westmoreland help out. Once again the two upper classes of the high school have each staged a play. The Senior class chose The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch, a satire on the Old West written by James Rosenburg. Randy L'Allier had the lead role as Sneaky Fitch with Jim Hugo filling in the gaps with his guitar playing and narrating. A standing room only crowd thoroughly enjoyed the play and the Seniors wished they could have put it on more than once. The Junior class play, The Little World of Don Camilla, was equally as successful. The play is a delightful comedy about the rivalry between a small town priest and a local commu- nist mayor. Don Carnillo, the parish priest, was played by Tom Lee Johnson, and the mayor, Peppone, by John Bauer. Both classes deserve congratulations on their fine jobs. A lighter moment during The Little World of Don Camillo. Nazareth Hall's speech team did fairly well this year, finishing sixth in the, State Speech Tournament. Standingt Cl. to r.D G. Jensen, I. Van Slyke, P. jaroszeski, M. Mattaini, T. Fleming, T. Sawina, J. Finnegan. Kneeling: fl. to r.D P. Hernick, G. Hell. Not pictured: K. johnson. Tension mounts in The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch. Larry johnson, of the Sixth Year, won this year's Declamation Contest with his fine ren- dition, The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner.

They had a relatively successful season finishing in third place in the K..C.Y.O., Sasketball League with 3 wins and 2 losses. Their final and supposedly best game of the season was the win over Naz Hall junior class. The men with the finest showing Were 6'4 Tom Blees, who had a 10 point game average, and Dave Gauthier with a 9 point average. Steve Watters had a fine 6 point average and lived up to expectations OH defense. Jim Charlebois and Paul Severson rounded out the starting five with 6'8 Bob Rosier and Mike Heaton giving fine relief support. Their coach, Fr. Roedel, deserves a lot of credit for the fine job he did with these boys. jim Charl eboi s Nlaz Hall s first Junior team: fkneelingb S. Watters, D. Flaherty, I.Sewald, D.
