Dramatics The Caedmon Society performed two plays this year. The fall play, The Andersomfille Trial, written by Saul Levitt, was staged with Rick Cunningham, Marty Farris, and Larry johnson in the lead roles. Farris and Cunningham were opposing lawyers for the trial of'Henry Wirtz, played by johnson, the officer in charge of the Andersonville Prison during the Civil War. The spring play,Gideon, written by Paddy Chayefsky, was staged in the beginning of May. The play is a comedy based on the Old Testament, with Joe Gryskiewicz in the lead role as Gideon. The elaborate scenery and unusual lighting helped to make the play a big success. Murder in the Cathedral by T. S. Eliot, a play describing the murder of Thomas a Becker in the Cathedral of Canterbury, was presented by the college and directed by Larry Johnson. pictured are: Cl. to r.J Steve Heininger, Ron Baregi fkneelingj, Don Pazdernik, jim McCarthy Cforegroundb, and Kevin Clinton. Cl. to r., seatedj jim Leitner, Greg Weyandt, lim Varpness, Cstandingl Dennis Demp- sey, john Stangl, Tom Chapple, Tom Gilsenan, and George Courchane. The Hallmark staff takes a break between pasting and cropping pic- tures in their Ncubby-hole . Cl. to r. seated! Rich Bipes, Fr. Forliti fmoderatod, Scooter Woolsey. fStandingD Tom Klein, Steve Nimis, Mark Mattaini Ceditorj, Kevin johnson, Gary Myskevitz, and Mike Deeney. The Tower, Tunnel, and Hallmark provide an excellent opportunity for the staff mem- bers to gain some experience in journalism. Their work is not easy but it is very satis- fying when the job is completed and the finished product is printed. Most of the work is done by the students them- selves, but without the help of the faculty moderators to round out the rough edges, the papers and yearbook could not be published. The Tunnel goes to press for the second year, with the help of: Cstandingb J. Sewald, P. Feela, T. Haselman, J. Marthaler, W. Wallin, fseatedj fChief Editorl, and W. Hedrick.

Once again the two upper classes of the high school have each staged a play. The Senior class chose The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch, a satire on the Old West written by James Rosenburg. Randy L'Allier had the lead role as Sneaky Fitch with Jim Hugo filling in the gaps with his guitar playing and narrating. A standing room only crowd thoroughly enjoyed the play and the Seniors wished they could have put it on more than once. The Junior class play, The Little World of Don Camilla, was equally as successful. The play is a delightful comedy about the rivalry between a small town priest and a local commu- nist mayor. Don Carnillo, the parish priest, was played by Tom Lee Johnson, and the mayor, Peppone, by John Bauer. Both classes deserve congratulations on their fine jobs. A lighter moment during The Little World of Don Camillo. Nazareth Hall's speech team did fairly well this year, finishing sixth in the, State Speech Tournament. Standingt Cl. to r.D G. Jensen, I. Van Slyke, P. jaroszeski, M. Mattaini, T. Fleming, T. Sawina, J. Finnegan. Kneeling: fl. to r.D P. Hernick, G. Hell. Not pictured: K. johnson. Tension mounts in The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch. Larry johnson, of the Sixth Year, won this year's Declamation Contest with his fine ren- dition, The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner.
