46 Rlx The College Forum entered its second year with Mike Wolff as president, Griff Wigley as vice-president, and john Sullivan as secretary-treasurer. The College Forum, working with all the college students, approved the constitution and scheduled activities for college weekends. The Forum arranged the printing of a student clirec- tory, acquired a water cooler in the college corridor, and during Lent, contributed the money from one of their meals to the poor children in India. Student and faculty cooperation helped to make the Forum a sigh naman .N great SUCCESS. On that day Mayor Thomas Byrne with Mr. Daly and Msgr. Moudry received 15 new members into the Society, seven Seniors and eight Juniors. Although the Society is in its second year this is the first year it has been organized. After the induction, Mr. Daley, the moderator, called for an election meeting. At this meeting Tom Fleming was elected president, Tim Sawina vice-president, John Bauer secretary, and Greg Henderson treasurer. The Society this year intends to become an active group that will promote the scholastic improvement of the school and the intellectual betterment of the student body. Activitie Searching. . . finding. . . learning. . . growing. . . living. That is our role, now, and every day of our lives. We will encounter people, people who are alive, who act, think, who Want to be happy. We must be able to adjust to each individual we meet, to live our lives in a way that helps others to live. To do this by oneself is not possible. Each of us will have to cooperate with others all of our lives. This past year has given us many opportunities to learn how to Work, play, to live together-sports, plays, speech teams, student council. All of them needed the coop- eration of individuals in order to function. All of us need each other in order to live. If, through this year, we have advanced even a little toward this goal, this one way of life, then we have gained a great deal as human beings living in a world of other human beings. The Nazareth Hall Student Council started to show its im- portance to the members of the High School early in the first quarter. Guided by Fr. Paul Mohrbacher, the council con- ducted activities such as a city-wide high school gathering, and sponsored school rings and school jackets. Also as a mem- ber of the Minnesota Association of Student Councils, the Council members were invited to con- ventions and symposiums at places like Denfeld High School in Duluth and Benilde in St. Louis Park.

The Tower, Tunnel, and Hallmark provide an excellent opportunity for the staff mem- bers to gain some experience in journalism. Their work is not easy but it is very satis- fying when the job is completed and the finished product is printed. Most of the work is done by the students them- selves, but without the help of the faculty moderators to round out the rough edges, the papers and yearbook could not be published.
