Our Home Economics department cre¬ ates a better understanding of home¬ making. After graduation, girls have some preparation for either an immediate homemaking career or a major in Home Economics in college. Miss Sara Frankenfield, a recent addition to the teaching staff, is our Home Economics instructor and F . H . A. adviser. At Pennsyvlania State University she re¬ ceived a B.S. in Home Economics Edu¬ cation. Through Arts and Crafts, students are given the chance to appreciate good taste and beauty. Miss Jean Clute instructs Art, the Arts and Crafts Club, Stagecraft Club, and Comet Art. She received a B. F.A. in education from Philadelphia Museum School of Art. PATHS TO Industrial Arts prepares students for various manual trades. It is especially helpful to those who plan to begin working immediately upon graduation from high school. The shop is equipped with modern tools and machinery. Andrew Brock, our shop and mechanical drawing teacher, ad¬ vises Stagecraft Club, Home and Hobby Club, and the Senior Class. He received his B.S. in Industrial Art at West Virginia Institute of Technology and his M.A. at Pennsylvania State University. Miss S. Joan Frankenfield, Andrew Brock, Miss Jean Clute. Students in Mechanical Drawing construct a prob¬ lem under the direction of Mr. Brock. Harold Keller uses the circular saw, while Fred Nolf and Aloys Hammer wait their turn, during a class in Industrial Art. 7
