BUSINESS CAREERS SEATED: Mrs. Virginia Graver, Mrs. Belva Kolessar; STANDING: Mrs. Mildred Metz, Chester Felver, Mrs. A. Jane Bleiler. Our Commercial Course develops the student’s know¬ ledge of the business world. Upon graduation they are ready to either continue their education at one of the many business colleges or begin a business career. The teachers pictured above left are: Mrs. Virginia Graver who instructs Shorthand I and II and Office Practice; also ad¬ viser to the Blue and White typists and the 50 Plus Club. Mrs. Graver received her B.S. and M.A. from Syracuse Uni¬ versity - Mrs. Belva Kolessar instructs Typing I and II and Introduction to Business; also adviser to the Blue and White business staff and the Comet business staff. Mrs. Kolessar received her B.S. from Rider College - Mrs. Mildred Metz instructs Bookkeeping and Bus¬ iness Ar it hm et i c , is school treasurer; also is Senior Class adviser and school treasurer. Mrs. Metz was educated at Rider College receiving a B.S.-Chester Felver instructs Consumer Economics, Commercial A- rithmetic, and American His¬ tory; also Student Council adviser. Mr. Felver received his B.S. at Rider College and his M.A. at Lehigh University - Mrs. A. Jane Bleiler instructs Per¬ sonal Typing, General Business and Typing I; also advises the Sophomore Class, Honor Society, Magazine Campaign and Knitting Club. Mrs. Bleiler re¬ ceived her B.S. from the State Teachers College at Blooms- burg, Pa. As the class listens attentively, Mrs. Metz explains the construction of a Six-Column Work Sheet. Mrs. Bleiler supervises workbook activities during General Business class. 12

Our Home Economics department cre¬ ates a better understanding of home¬ making. After graduation, girls have some preparation for either an immediate homemaking career or a major in Home Economics in college. Miss Sara Frankenfield, a recent addition to the teaching staff, is our Home Economics instructor and F . H . A. adviser. At Pennsyvlania State University she re¬ ceived a B.S. in Home Economics Edu¬ cation. Through Arts and Crafts, students are given the chance to appreciate good taste and beauty. Miss Jean Clute instructs Art, the Arts and Crafts Club, Stagecraft Club, and Comet Art. She received a B. F.A. in education from Philadelphia Museum School of Art. PATHS TO Industrial Arts prepares students for various manual trades. It is especially helpful to those who plan to begin working immediately upon graduation from high school. The shop is equipped with modern tools and machinery. Andrew Brock, our shop and mechanical drawing teacher, ad¬ vises Stagecraft Club, Home and Hobby Club, and the Senior Class. He received his B.S. in Industrial Art at West Virginia Institute of Technology and his M.A. at Pennsylvania State University. Miss S. Joan Frankenfield, Andrew Brock, Miss Jean Clute. Students in Mechanical Drawing construct a prob¬ lem under the direction of Mr. Brock. Harold Keller uses the circular saw, while Fred Nolf and Aloys Hammer wait their turn, during a class in Industrial Art. 7
