The Future Teachers of America, through teacher's aid, tutoring, and student teaching programs, inspired prospective teachers to become a greater part of this future. Red Cross found time to care, and, by doing so, brought happiness to others. They iilled Christmas stockings for children, gave a party at a convalescent home, distributed baskets of food for needy families at Thanksgiving, and F T A RED CROSS COMMERCIAL CLUB made a trip to Great Lakes in the spring. Through talks and demonstrations, they gained an understanding of first aid. The Commercial Club fostered an interest in the business world and a better understanding of it. Business experts spoke to juniors and seniors, in order for them to gain the necessary knowledge to prepare themselves for the business world.

Science students practiced the fundamentals they learned in the various science courses in the Future Scientists of America. The three separate sections of chemistry, biology, and physical science met monthly to plan the agenda. lt included things as a trip to Argonne National Laboratory and the Museum of F S A MATH CLUB CAM ERA CLU B Science and Industry, a science fair, skits, and a plan to build a weather station at Nazareth with a homemade barometer and weather vane. The Math Club's bimonthly meetings, which provided knowledge of general mathematics and computer processing, were set up for interested sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The annual Math Contest for eighth graders gave the members a chance to use their knowledge of math by writing the tests. For the first time, they sponsored a computer dance with nearby boys' schools to promote learning with fun. From the dark room emerged someone who learned the fine points of photography. She obtained this knowledge through weekly work sessions, picture-taking field trips, developing and printing her own film, and entering contests.
