e 've grown ClCC'fLlSfOITLO SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Every History book has a preface in which the author expresses gratitude to everyone who has helped him in producing his book. We wish to thank Nazareth. the faculty. and the girls who are Nazareth. for it is their history, lived in the past four years. of which we write. Freshman year was a year of firsts. Who can forget the excitement of the first bell signalling a change of class? Adjustment seemed our biggest problem. About mid-year we elected our first class oflicersz President - Ioan Sweeny. Vice- President - Mary Ann Mack. Secretary - Maureen Meyer. Treasurer - Brenda Do- minski. Qperetta time found us busily rehearsing our numbers in Naughty Marietta . lRe- member the A'Quadroons ?J Qur first dance brought us together for the first time as a class working on a class project. The Kith 'n' Kin was called, appro- priately enough, Cupid's Capers . First retreat followed. a highlight among the many other 'ihrstsn of our premier year at N.A.: first lunch period. exams. gym classes and tournaments. Qur production of The Courting of Marie Ienvrinn will doubtless bring a smile to the faces of many sophis- ticated seniors. Sophomore year introduced the scientific era. Calmly manipulating scalpel and pin. we discovered the inner intricacies of frog. worm. and crayfish. Nleanwhile congruent triangles demanded proving and Pytha- goreas posed a theorem for our compre- hension. Iulius Caesars untimely demise was mourned by sophomores wearing fun- eral black and white ribbons for the ldes of March, while the more intrepid among us were busy fighting the Gallic wars cum Caesare vivente. The duty of a school goes far beyond training the mind. It must produce a well-rounded human being. not only able to think. but to cope with the problems of a complex society. The Nazareth stu- dent gets her first big chance to practice social graces in the excitement and glamour of lunior Ring Day. As a Senior at College-Career day, she stands on the brink of womanhood. and for the first time realizes her re- sponsibilities toward others as a gracious wife. a self- assured motlier, and a responsible citizen. to our C ass Our second Kith 'n' Kin. Sentimental Iourneyu was produced more professionally than our first: the Swiss Village and The Can-Can - how professional can you get? Iunior year was a year of change. We sported new uniforms which set us apart from the rest of the school. The big question was -- pearl, black. red. blue. or gold? We crashed upperclass society at the Student- Council-Announcer Dance 'iKofuku and the Sho-Ball . Both juniors and seniors had an Uoptimus tempusn at the Roman Banquet. Driving class brings to mind signs and Rules of The Road tests. Finally. March 18th brought the long-awaited Ring Day with fashions lovely to look at. notably. La Chemise . Our retreat Iunior year was a marvelous experience. Father Kusman presented his stirring challenge to activate our spiritual life. For about a week after Miss Culkin's Course. there was a noticeable lack of Eliza Doolittles in our halls which suddenly a- bounded with elegant. posture conscious i'Fair Ladies . Then we became Seniors. Who can de- scribe it? To climb a ladder and suddenly realize you are at the top! We charlestoned at i'Razz-Ma-Tazz and waltzed dreamily at the i'Sno-Ball . Visions of Indians, Molin- ries, and handsome Ieem Kenyon danced through our heads. Most of our time. however, was occupied with term papers and Macbeth. or lighting the revolution with our forefathers. Graduation will culminate these four happy years. Turning from these. we look with confidence ahead to ci new com- mencementf' Pug: III
