The ansxver is true school spirii its tiiiilri ingredients. charity and responsibility. Ir takes real charity to give up study periods and free time before and after school. Since the Student Librarians xvork as a team, every girl must accept her responsibility and do her iob correctly: otherwise the library cannot function smoothly. Our library is an integral part of the xvhole. It continues to be useful to the school as long as we have alert. capable girls who volunteer their services as Student Librarians. p.hl0 l X-

Butler. The purpose of the school newspaper, the Announcer , is to inform Nazareth's citizens of the more significant events that occur each month. N.A.'s 'AAnouncer is a type of collage in print that mirrors the activities of each class and department. However, the features, rather than the news, distinguish our paper from that of a public school. The editorials reflect our Christian training. our school spirit. our desire to be apostles for Christ. Here is an example of the Catholic press on a small scale and Catholic press writers in their embryonic stages. The paper furnishes means for ambitious artists. poets. and journalists to express their views and exhibit their creative ability. Perhaps the thrill experienced by the students upon see- ing their literary or artistic work presented be- fore the entire student body will be the first stage in the development of future contributors and 'or supporters of the Catholic Press. Many new. enjoyable pieces are being added to its repertoire: for example. the student body was treated to selections from My Fair Lady as part of their Christmas concert. The orchestra is under the direction of Sister Mary Cecilia and Mr. Richard Pitera whose efforts are appreciated by a grateful student body. CHORAL CLUB Nazareths Choral Club is one of the largest organizations in the school consisting of almost one hundred girls. Each year it adds new members to its ranks. It participates in many events outside of school. such as music festivals, and concerts with other schools. This year the Choral Club won first rating in the Choral Festival at Maria High School. Each Christmas the school is treated to a selection of hymns and carols by the girls. The girls sing under the direction of Sister Miriam Rose. CHORAL CLUB Row l: Left to Right: K. King, I. King, S.
