‘ole BUG Ways orocaame 3 rs Saks is ie ¢ ap ae A Upon my unworthy and incapable shoulders has fallen the grave task of writing a historyn of the Senior Class of '39, It is with pleasure, but many misgivings that I undertake this task. On a bright sunny morning in September 1935, the present Sen- ior Class, twenty ene timid and bashful freshmen, entered the portals of Netural Bridge Bin School, This was the most memer- able event in the annals of th: high schoel. We were given cerdial reception by the old students, and were made to feel that we had a place in the school. The first month of High School was a happy time for us freshmen. However, like all good things, this was tound to have an end, for on recciving our reports, we saw by our grades that our folly must come to an end. It was with many heattaches and pains that we settlea dew to hard work to make a more favorable impression upon our teachers. After a showing ef brave determination the freshmen class ended the session without any other epoch making event. Another September day dawns clear, and bright, and with joyous shouts, the present See Class, again cntsred the halls of N.B.H.S. to begin life as a Sophomore, We eagerly took up our studies again. We wore disheartoned by the fact that we had lost Bive members of the class, but three other members: then came in to cheer us up. THE SPAN had five men cn the athletic t: us, We also rendered a play entitled Poco.: father which wis given under tho direction of Miss Davidson, After passing through the Sophomore year with flying colors we were ready to take up life as jilly Juniors, At the beginning of the third year we roturned to school eager to begin work again. This time we discovercd that a few “of our former mombers had dpopped out and that a few new ones had arrived to take their placos. During this year our class furnished tho teams with four good athictes of distinction, also members of tho Voive Staff and many for the Glee Club, of which we are proud. Anothor sunmer passes and we find our class together again, This time with dignity, we entered the portals of N.B.H.S. We were looked up to by all, and it was with a kingly feeling that we started our life as a Senior and began tho routine of study. This time ve welcomed three new members to our class, but during the year we were immcasurably saddened by the death of one of our numbers and ilness of another. It is with a feeling of sadness that we avait our parting day on June second, Surely it will be a delight to receive our diplomas, but parting from those fellow classmates, with whom we have been so closely associated, will be tinged with sadness. May each member of the class of '39 go from one Bide cess to another; may their fame be onduring; and may they never forget the happy days spent at Netural Bridge High School.
