First is Honesty To teacher and friends And Reliance to one and all. Theln Scholariship the intellect's goal And Sportsmanship Which we all possess. Amiability and Kindness Pavle the way to Joy. You must have practiced Self Control And taken interest iii the school's activities. And then with Health and cleanliness Certainly you've vvon the game, lVe, the students of Nl C. H. S., believe that the highest ideals of life may be obtained only by developing to the fullest extent all of our latent powers. As an aid toward this worthy goal We accept the following ideals as ours and shall strive earnestly to tdansfer them into habits: Courage--Socialg Spiritualg Mental, and Physical. Ambitiong Actiong Achievement. Self Control by placing alppropriate emphasis upon all three faculties of the mind-intellect, feeling and will. Punctuality. Earnestness in all our worlk. There are three functions which every school organization should accomplish: Legislative or policy making, executive or the placing of policies in operation, and ap- praisal or that function which attempts through careful examination and study of facts and conditions to determine the efficiency of the executive function. The lloard of Edu- cation exercises the legislative and appraisal functions but delegates the executive function to a trained executive who is charged with the responsibility for advising ways and means of executing efficiently the educational policies of the Board, Thus, our lloard of liduca- tion adopts educational policies, selects the professional executive and delegates to him the operation of the Boards plan, provides the financial means, and appraises the results of the working of the plan. No group of people should appreciate more than the high school student body the very fine and efficient services of our Board of Education. Hours and hours of the very valuable time of its members are consumed each month in deliberating on matters per- taining to our best interests. lfach member is an individual of recognized standing in the community as to civic interests as well as business ability and personal integrity.
