THE 1932 GUSHER Porter Davis Howard Angel Edna Campbell Mr. Rucker Miss Skarra Charles Tagney James Moore SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Fireworks!! I'l1 say we have displayed some very brilliant colors while graduating from inexperienced Freshmen to learned Seniors. VVe have not only advanced in our wisdom but also have made ourselves in every way. In our freshman year, we started out with a bang by entering with one of the largest and most talented classes in the history of the school. Porter Davis led us as presidentg Roy Gallington, vice-president, Eleanor Burwell, secre- tary. lNIiss lllcliride and Miss Feris herded the mob as our sponsors. In 1929 as well as in 1928, Porter Davis acted as chief executive and his assistants were: Jim Williams, secretary-treasurer. Miss Feris and llflr. Oliver acted as our guides. In our junior year we were especially active in the school. Howard Angel took Porter's place with Harry Schwartz, vice-presidentg Edna Campbell, secretary, and Don Bucher, treasurer. Mr. Russell and llliss Anderson acted as sponsors. Now we have become the so-called sophisticated, world-wise and confident seniors, we are still satisfied with Howard Angel as president, with Porter Davis, vice-presidentg Edna Campbell, secretaryg Charles Tagney, treas- urerg and Jim Moore, sergeant-at-arms. llfliss Skarra and Mr. Rucker have helped to make this year so successful as our sponsors. The seniors have taken parts in all the school activities throughout this year. Howard Angel, Rod- ney Rochelle, Fred Ridle, and Porter Davis played in the state basketball tournament here. lVIost of the first string in football were seniors. Gloria Hopkins and Jim 'Parker have been outstanding in dramatics. Ten senior representatives went to Denver to attend the First Annual Speech Confer- ence. Sara McCann, Marcus Bryan, and William Bunnel represented the class in debate. Charlotte Sheppard, Louise Winship, Ed Pratt, and Ed Barnes went to the music convention at Cleveland. Although we have heard so many reports about how hard and black the future is for young folks who are going into the business world, we will use the high standards of N. C. H. S. as a stepping stone to greater heights and success in the world. --By EDNA CAMPBELL.
