The association was organized just four years after the college was founded. Kliss Amary King was the first secretary in residence. The purpose of the Social Service organization at National Park is to help the other fellow, and the year of nineteen forty-two was memorable, indeed, for its various welfare promotions. Led by its capable officers, the Club sponsored these drives: The tuberculosis seal campaign, the Red Cross drive, Hlinittinl for Britainl' and, finally, for our own soldiers, the milk fund, and the print- ing and publishing of the student and faculty address books, as well as answering two appeals for help from the Kentucky mountain children. The Club climaxed its season with a Variety show, the pro- ceeds from which were given to the Red Cross for their war work and for relief. The organization has accomplished some fine work this year and deserves a vote of thanks for the spirit with which they have carried on this work. +24 119 E+
