DEDICATIOIXI TO Tl-IE ALUMNI T Whenever man's achievements are scanned by himself, he either praises himself beyond worthiness or, inversely, sees only the multiplicity of his failures and shortcomings. Both attitudes are inexplicably Wrong. There is a happy medium and this is of lasting constructive and instructive character. For- tunate is he Who finds neither need nor time to measure his Worth except to ponder the next objec- tive. That man, or those men, by their reticence and forthright ambition are most likely to succeed and be praised by others. Thus, We take cognizance of the inestimable Worth of those Alumni Who have pre- ceded us at National College and, in recognition of their incalculable gifts to the Chiropractic profes- sion, We respectfully dedicate every jot and tittle of this yearbook. ln so doing, our profoundest and our sincerest desire for continued health, success, and happiness are expressly tendered to each of you. TI-IE PRESIDENTS MESSAGE No true and permanent fame can be founded except in labors which promote the happiness of mankind. - Charles Sumner. Ours is the heritage of greatness and just fame. Chiropractic as a science and profession of therapy has come to have a tremen- dously important role in the health problems of man. As the second largest healing group, our profession maintains the unique position of being the leader of the constantly growing trend toward the use and study of the natural healing methods, a trend that is destined more and more to express its clinical authority in the issues of public health and the proper care of the ailing person, The history of the National College has always been closely allied to the progress of our profession. Many of the standards relating to the educational progress of Chiropractic found their conception at the National College. lt can honestly be said that our Alma Mater has served its graduates sincerely and well, it has been constant in its efforts to advance Chiropractic as a profession, and consequently it has done much to promote the health and happiness of mankind. ' We stand confident that the future of Chiropractic is great and brilliantg and that the National College will continue to maintain its leadership in support of the progress that is in the offing. We are determined that as an institution we shall expand and growg that there will be no halt to our endeavors to bring new knowledge, 'greater dignity, and fuller capacity to our profession. We shall enlarge upon that which we have, and shall give liberally of our means toward our common cause - the promotion of Chiropractic as a science and profession. The high importance of our future in Chiropractic supplies us all the incentive we need - the courage to strive for the realization of that ideal. Ioseph I. fans-e Dr. Ianse has won acclaim for his exacting and specific writings on various chiropractic and associated themes. His articles periodically appear in the National College Iournal and the N.C.A. Iournal. Dr. Ianse is a member of the Public Health Committee of the N.C.A., is a contributor to the new manual on Chiropractic Principles and Technic , and The Way To a Long and Healthy Life , as edited by the National College, and co-author of the recent manual on Chiropractic Practice Vol. l - lnfectious Diseases. He has rendered invaluable assistance to Dr. F. W. llli of Geneva, Switzerland, in the researches and eventual literary discussion of the Sacro-lliac Mechanism Keystone of Spinal Balance and Body Locomotion. We of the Chiropractic profession , asserts Dr. lanse, dare and may pride ourselves in the realization that we as pioneers have probably contributed the greatest single advance in mod- ern therapeutic thought, and ours- is the responsibility of safeguarding it.
