GAUCHOS WELCOME NEW PRINCIPAL Mr. Jack Hunt was president of his senior class, an All-City star in the 100-and 220-yard dash and an officer aboard the USS Portland during World War 2. Narbonne's new principal was the State College Champion in the 100-yard dash, gained the Outstanding Student-Teacher Award at U. S.C ., and now has two sons and two daughters. He taught business at Bell High and coached football, basketball and track, he taught at Washington High and acted as Coordinator of Student Activities. He was vice -principal at Foshay Junior High, and held the same post at Burroughs Junior High. Moving up, he was principal at Gompers Junior High, then went on to hold the same post at Gardena High. He then served for two years as Administrative Coodinator of Area A. He belongs to several community service groups, is a volunteer worker on local civic projects and a survivor of 50 years of L.A. smog. This year, he added another feather to his cap by becoming principal at Narbonne High. Mr. Hunt, eager to get back to the kids instead of being regulated to an administrative position at Area A, remarked that he appreciates the cooperative attitude of the students and staff at Narbonne. He enjoys golf, fishing, reading and loves football. Having completed 25 years in public education, Mr. Hunt will celebrate his 26th year singing Onward, Narbonne.
