The competitiveness of the young 'estlers, coupled with the leadership of a few veterans lead to a very respectable 8-5 dual meet season. Hale placed cond in their division of the conference and ended up in 4th place out of 16 teams in the overall standings. tournament competition they finished 2nd at East Troy, 10th in the prestigious Mid States Classic, 4th at Kenosha Jdford, 7th in the conference meet, 3rd in the Regionals and 4th at the Sectional meet. Hale qualified 4 wrestlers for the :te meet, Jeff Shurkoff at 98 lbs., Ted Skorupa at 105 lbs., Scott Henry at 132 lbs., and Ron Schnabl at 167 lbs. :lividual honors were won by Junior Ted Skorupa. Ted won 4 individual titles. He was crowned champion at Kenosha. e Suburban Conference meet, at Regionals and at the Sectional meet. Ted earned 4th place at the State meet, and was Iected by his teammates as the Outstanding Wrestler for 1982-83. Other individual achievements were Scott Henry's egional Championship and 6th place finish at State. Rod Schnabl won a Sectional Championship and was selected as Aost Improved Wrestler . Sports - 99
