DEDICATION As our high school careers come to an end, we. The Class of 1984 are pleased to be known as a class that set trends, started new traditions and broke new ground. With that distinction in mind, we have chosen to dedicate our 1984 Maritimes to a man that we feel is of the same caliber. That man is Mr. Wayne Johnson. We dedicate this chronicle of our years at Narragansett to Mr. Johnson with a deep appreciation of his versatility and in recogni- tion of his many valuable contributions to both our school and its students. In his six years as the Student Council Advisor, Mr. Johnson has been both a co-worker and counselor to us. He has assisted us in every endeavor we have undertaken and participated in all of our major events. He has shared himself many times, including his chaperoning our many dances, the Junior Prom and the Spirit Week bonfire. His enthusiasm for life has taught us how to get the most out of living while striving to succeed. In short, he has been an inspiration to us all. It is therefore with great pride and honor, that we. The 1984 Senior Class of Narragansett High School, proudly dedicate the 1984 Maritimes to our friend and teacher, Mr. Wayne Johnson.

JUNE 1984 MARITIMES N.H.S. ANNUAL A Letter From the Editor Attempting to sum up everything that has happened in our school over the past year is indeed a difficult task for anyone. Even harder still, is the task of capturing that very special quality that our senior class possesses. As editor of the Maritimes, I have gratefully accepted this challenge with the hope that I, with the help of others, can create for you a keepsake in which you may carry the fond memories of high school forever. I also wish that this yearbook will effectively cap- ture many of the unforgettable moments that our class has shared during our time here, at Nar- ragansett High School. In this position, I have been fortunate enough to be able to witness the growth and changes of this class in a unique and valuable perspective. Over the past four years, being a member of the Maritimes staff, I have grown to know many members of our class in both a social and personal manner, which has enabled me to more accurately illustrate their character in this book. I hope that you will find this annual to be a worthy reflection of our life and times here at Nar- ragansett High School.
