MARITIMES Volume VII 1983 Narragansett High School Narragansett, Rhode Island 'hanging Currents, Changing Times . . . We are all MARINERS, sailors of the open sea around us, plotting a course for the future. Day by day we change with each new tide. Our minds are filled with knowledge opening doorways inside. Strong dedication leads us through. Red and white signals spirit and pride, together we cheer. Acquaintances become companions as we stand side by side, sharing our lives. Over the years we grow with each new discovery and every old mistake. The time we spend is long. There are smiles and tears, but the echoes of laughter remain. The halls are quiet as we walk away. We take with us memories of our first days, once novel and challenging, which now seem like a second home. We have seen each other change, and with guidance, always come out on top. Fondly looking back, we know what we have gained is irreplaceable. The future holds a challenge, which we have faced once before, but we now face it with goals and dreams that are within our reach. . . . 2 DEDICATION This year it was decided that the dedication of our yearbook would not go to a teacher but to another member of the faculty who we feel has had just as much influence in our lives. It is with sincere respect that the class of 1983 dedicates this book to Mr. Maurice Allaire. As a member of the Guidance Department, he devotes much of his time to seniors and their con- cerns. He has helped us through SAT’s. scholar- ships and college applications. He has helped us make our decisions about careers, universities and majors. No matter how complicated this all seemed to us. and no matter how many questions we had, Mr. Allaire was always there with a simple solution and a reassuring word. It is because of all this that he has not only been a counselor to us but a friend in the truest sense of the word. There is simply no other way to express the gratitude we feel. Mr. Allaire, the class of ’83 leaves you our yearbook and our thanks!!!
