Dedication On behalf of the student body, the Maritimes staff dedicates the 1980 yearbook to a teacher who has been unparalleled in demonstrating the spirit and character of Narragansett. This dedication is a tribute to a unique indi- vidual whose roots are deeply embed- ded in Narragansett's past and pres- ent. She was educated through the Narragansett and South Kingstown school systems, and continued her educational development at the Uni- versity of Rhode Island. Mrs. Maxine Mason-Rose is as effervescent as the ocean and as much a part of Narragan- sett as The Towers.” The strength of her tenderness and warmth for her stu- dents is constantly shown through their love for her. Mrs. Rose is sincere in her dedication to teaching and in her class, all feel welcomed and are inspired to do their best. Besides being a superb teacher, Mrs. Rose is also an avid bicyclist and history buff. She has donated much of her time to researching South County lore and sharing it with others. For these and all the varied contrib- utions she has given her students, we proudly dedicate this book to you Champ.”
