12 OUR CLASS TAKE ONE: Freshman year! Our first year as high school students was under the direction of Mrs. Johnson as our advi- sor. We elected an excellent starring cast: Chace Loomis, Pres.; Pat Monteith, VP; Sue Zwick, Secretary and Glen Babich, Treasurer. We began our fundraising activities and held a successful dance for grades 7-12. In the spring, armed with soapy sponges and an ample water supply, we held a profitable carwash. TAKE TWO: Sophomore year! Our second year featured Mrs. Cicil- line as advisor and a supporting cast of Sue Zwick, Pres.; Tracy Brownell, VP; Terry Podedworny, Secre- tary and David Nota, Treasurer. This year, we started a tradition with Homecoming and Debbie Dowdell as our representative. We also held a candy sale which delighted the student body. At our first Valentine's Day Dance, we sold carnations and took portraits. TAKE THREE: Junior year! For the last time, we experienced a change in the director’s chair. Mr. Anderson volun- teered to advise our class, and the following cast helped with set direction Sue Zwick, Pres.; David Nota, VP; Cindy Pater, Secretary and Pat Monteith, Treasurer. HISTORY while. Some of our first run events included the Sadie Hawkins dance, our class rings, and our Variety Show, Potpourri 79”. The main event was in May ... The Junior Prom! Liisa Halberg was crowned queen at the oceanside Green Inn to make it a perfect evening. TAKE FOUR: Senior year! The lights were finally on us as we accepted our center stage position. Mr. Anderson, still in the director's chair, was supported by Steve Bea- trice, Pres.; Terry Podedworny, VP; Kerry Casey, Sec- retary and Chase Loomis, Treasurer. In September, we sold seat cushions with the Yearbook staff to comfort fans on the new bleachers. At Homecoming, the court was Jane Ranieri, Ruth Aldrich and Marcie Turgeon. The day climaxed when Ruth was crowned queen and the Mariners whipped the Spartans of Situate. Later in the year, Slave Day provided laughs for the under- classmen while we fortified our treasury. Our Senior Prom is being planned for a night in May, and will surely be the hit of the year. Graduation, tentatively set for June 10, will be a rerun of memories and a preview of things to come. We have been a close class and will surely miss each other. Certain that we have worked together to make our years at Narragansett High the best, we leave with confidence. We the Class of 1980, say Good-bye... 13
