First year typing classes learn the fundamentals of typing. Agriculture classes aid in soil judging Vital to the agriculture student is his knowledge of livestock and crop growth. Of course, he must learn to take advantage of the most up-to-date methods. This year's soil judging team came home from the county contest with the first place trophy, and Berty Egging was the top competitor. Business courses stress planning ahead Bill Mattern knows that practice makes perfect. Maggie Mullet learns to use an adding machine. Many courses are offered to business-minded students . Although these courses prepare students for future occupations , they also have other practical uses . Typing and shorthand are useful for college bound students. General business and bookkeeping help us prepare budgets . Office practice is more advanced and it prepares students for office work. It includes filing, using the dictaphone, advanced typing skills, and operating adding machines . 28 It all adds up!

Self-expression and interpretation Which one did you say was the shortest? A broad knowledge of English is essential to communicate effectively with one another. Our English courses deal mainly with composition and literature. Several of the classes performed plays which were entertaining and informative. The junior and senior classes went to Manchester College to see A MIDSUMMER-NIGHT'S DREAM. Speech courses help perfect voice control as well as body control. The classes gave recitals, took part in debates, and held group discussions. Through speech the students learned to express themselves . Student teachers provide a new approach.
