Students see the world through language Repitan, por favor. Many students enjoy the challenge of a foreign language. At Nappanee High School two language courses other than English were offered this year. German students acted out plays and learned about the Ger -man culture. Spanish students increased their vocabularies by playing word games. Fluency was the goal in the Spanish classes. are vital in shaping our world Many different manual skills are offered in our shop department. These encourage boys to discover important crafts. In mechanical drawing they learn the process of drafting. In the woodworking course projects are built according to the experience of the student. By working in metal and machine shop, the students learn the uses of different machines. In basic electricity the fundamentals of electricity are taught. Electromagnets and electric motors were two of their projects. The skills of a carpenter are acquired in building trades. This year they built a giant dog house and constructed the roof to a carport. In auto shop the students learn about motor vehi -cles. They gain practical experience by working on their cars. Joe Mast gains experience in welding. Much planning is necessary in the shop department. I sure hope the drawers will fit! 25
