MARY IEANNE CONNELLY came to NHS at the end of the first semester to teach Art. She has spent many years studying the techniques of art work and painting. Miss Con- nelly graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and went on to study at the Cranbrook Academy of Art where she received a Master of Fine Arts degree and a Scholarship to attend the Institution of Art in Florence, Italy. Miss Connelly completed her year of study in Europe and returned to the U.S. last October. X FRED CHURCH, our varsity basketball coach, re- ceived his Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio Northern University. Mr. Church also teaches Amer- ican History and Drivers' Education and, in the spring, he coaches our baseball team. The basketball team has shown definite improvement in the last few years and we're sure he'll soon lead them to first place. How can he help it, with his two most ardent fans, jimmy and johnny Church, cheering for their dad and the team at every game! CHARLES BUCKENMEYER, our Dean of Boys, has been the head football coach at NHS for many years and has certainly proven his abilities as a fine coach for our team. He attended Bowling Green State University where he received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degree. Bucky also teaches boys' Hygiene, Physi- cal Education, and serves as coach for the track team and the reserve basketball team. just as the team will never lose its spirit, Bucky will never lose his popularity. THOMAS BACH, the Industrial Arts teacher at NHS, at- tended Ohio Northern University and Bowling Green State University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He is also advisor to the Industrial Arts Club. Every so often when Mr. Bach decides to go on a.diet, he can be found in the cafeteria at noon mournfully watching the other teachers eat. Tell us, Mr. Bach, are you on a diet now?

The members of the Napoleon School Board are elected by the citizens of Napoleon. It is the duty of these men to carry on the economic welfare of our school system. Through their efforts our school was able to maintain its high standards h t roughout another school year. ORA GREEN, Mr. Blanke's sec- retary, is a familiar figure to all our students. She has been at Napoleon High School for a good many years now and we hope she stays for many more. Her friendly smile and constant cheerfulness have come to be a part of school life for many of us and if our Miss Green wasn't around, it just wouldn't seem na- tural. ORLEY STURDAVANT h as served Napoleon High School for many years as visiting teacher. His work is done with cheerfulness and efficiency. RUBY HATHAWAY, Mr. john- son's secretary, came to NHS during the first semester. The students soon realized that her aim was to aid both the faculty and student body. She has certainly reached her goal. The students appreciate her cheerfulness and hope she is here to stay for a long, long time.

JOHN CUFF has acquired his education from many noted Universities. They include the University of Michigan where he received his Master of Arts, Kenton University where he acquired his Bachelor of Philosophy degree, and Toledo Uni- versity where he received his Bachelor of Law degree. Recently Mr. Cuff passed his bar examination and is now practicing law during some of his out-of-school hours. He teaches Mathematics, History, and Business Law. Mr. Cuff also advises the National Honor Society. l . x..F JOSEPH DOWDELL has made quite a name for himself during his first year with us. In addition to teaching English to the Freshman and Sophomore stu- dents, he coaches the Freshman Football team and taught Spanish to two Seniors. Mr. Dowdell received his Bachelor of Science degree and his A.B. in Liberal Arts at Bowling Green State University. If this year's activities of Mr. D. are any indication as to what we can expect in the future, Napoleon High School has quite a teacher in the person of Mr. Joe Dowdell! MICHAEL DUNHAM received a Bachelor of Sci- ence degree in Education upon his graduation from Ohio State University. He teaches Vocational Agri- culture and acts as F.F.A. advisor. Due to the fact that the Agriculture room is quite far from the high school, many students do not see Mr. Dunham as often as they see the other teachers, but this only makes his quick smile and wit all the more noticeable when students do see him. I3 DONALD FREEMAN acquired his Bachelor of Science de- gree in Education at Western Michigan College and Central Michigan College. He is the high school Industrial Arts teacher and advisor to the Industrial Arts Club. Mr. Freeman's stu- dents will acknowledge the fact that he is a strict believer that 11 workman's job is never completed until his tools are returned to their proper place.
