Born at Liberty, Pa., July 27, 1892, the son of a United Brethren Minister, his family moved regularly every third year to new fields of work. He had the honor of being president of his senior class and president of the Y.M.- C.A. in 1915 and 1916. He played football, baseball and basketball all four years and after he received his A.B. Degree, he was invited to Bowling Green, Ohio, for an interview concern- ing the position of High School Coach. His pals loaned him clothes and money for the trip. He landed the iob and worked there for three years with the Bob Cats. lt was there that he found his good wife Edna. Mr. Brillhart loves the outdoors. His favorite hobbies are fishing, hunting, gardening, and raising chickens. You can't fool him on any of the good fishing holes in the Maumee. Under his administration the teaching staff has increased and one new department after another has been added. He organized the band for the first time and broadened the music department, later the industrial arts, home economics and then distributive education. The auditorium and gymnasium dream materialized and along with it came a beautful school, library, school cafeteria, and last our two beautiful new Elementary Schools. School is more than iust walls, bricks, and mortar. lt is spirit. lt is boys and girls, teachers and parents planning, working, and playing together. America's future sits today at classroom desks. America has offered freedom and opportunity such as no land before her has ever known. There is a voice in the soul of every human being that cries out to be free. America has answered that voice. He has a place in the hearts of all the student body. We wish him the very best that life has to offer. Miss Ora Green Miss Green has served as a loyal secretary and friend to Mr. Brillhart throughout his long career as Superintendent of Napoleon Public Schools. r:S'2-ffuasitixfezimfx-Mfr'
