Cleon Dubbs Brillhart claims the whole state of Pennsylvania for his home. Born at Liberty, Pa., July 27, 1892, the son of a United Brethren Minister, his family moved regularly every third year to new fields of work. Of Pennsylvania Dutch ancestry, he had the courage and ambition to work his own way through New Collegiate Institute and Albright College by wash- ing dishes and doing any other work that would help pay the way. He had the honor of being president of his senior class and president of the Y.M.- C.A. in 1915 and 1916. He played football, baseball and basketball all four years and after he received his A.B. Degree, he was invited to Bowling Green, Ohio, for an interview concern- ing the position of High School Coach. His pals loaned him clothes and money for the trip. He landed the iob and worked there for three years with the Bob Cats. lt was there that he found his good wife Edna. Mr. Brillhart loves the outdoors. His favorite hobbies are fishing, hunting, gardening, and raising chickens. You can't fool him on any of the good fishing holes in the Maumee. Being a Presbyterian he has worked aggressively in the church in the offices of trustee and elder. He is a Mason and and Elk. For many years he has served on the Carnegie Library Board. The Brillharts have two sons, William, an associate professor of Biology at Emory University, and Robert, a geolo- gist, who is engaged in oil exploration in the swamps of Louisiana. The Brill- harts live on West Maumee Ave. in the Brillhart addition. J
