SECOND ROW: Phil Marston, Ed Roark, Doug Dailey, Bob Nall, and Coach Goodrich. THIRD ROW: Eugene Gardner, Leon Pittman, and Ron Green. The Napoleon Reserves in basketball turned in a perfect season 16-0. This is the first perfect season in the schoo1's history for the reserves. Only St. Johns and East Jackson gave us much trouble. Coach Goodrich says, This was the best shooting and fastest team I have ever coached. We hit in the 30's or 40's in all but two games. A fine rebotuider in Leon Pittman, two aggressive boys at forward, Dailey and Green, who played hard every game---a fine shooter in Bob Nall and good ball handler in Phil Marston made a fine team. We had good bench strength. Jerry Mull 'played seven games with the reserves before moving up to the varsity. 39

Some of the COMPETITIVE FIRE AND REAL DE- SIRE of our past ball clubs that one might think would have rubbed off on this squad, simply didn't. Defense plagued us--we worked at it at the beginning of the season but grew lazy as it progressed. We had a club capable of beating anyone. Our chief weaknesses were speed, defense and rebounding with a touch of laziness here and there.
