During October and November we sold name stickers for a class project. Our nominee for Homecoming Queen was Darlene Miller. Her court was composed of Jane DeBute, Charlene Miller, Carolyn Carpenter, and Sandra Fischmeister. Our second dance was held February 22, 1957 after the Grass Lake game. ROW 3: Carol Ketner, Mary Martin, Sue McKay, Larry Murphy, Steven Pearse, Lyle Pittman, Kathleen Pruden, Larry Retter. The junior class of 1957 was on its way again with the help of its ad- visers, Mrs. Robb and Mr. Sawyer. They planned to make it a profitable year with their noon candy sales, car washing project, selling of subscriptions to the Brooklyn Exponent, and by raking the leaves on the school lawn. All of these were quite profit- able, even though quite a few people lost their enthusiasm and dicln't par- ticipate in the projects. The junior play, The Eyes of TLALOC, was presented on April l2th, under the direction of Mr. Whitehead. The three main characters were played by Martha Hurford, Tom Smith, and Roger Copsey. One of the biggest moments for the juniors was the day when their class rings came. After the first few weeks the usual exchange of rings between girls and boys subsided. After much campaigning and speech making the election for Student Council President was held. Pat Jentzen came out as victor. Although Roger Copsey, an opponent of Pat's, was defeated in that field, he became - successful in another by becoming editor of the Pirateer. There were also other successful students in the class. Becky Rowley wrote an essay that was printed by the National Essay Association of Los Angeles, California and Emie Adams got all-county for his efforts on the football team. Throughout the year the juniors have had their surprises and disappoint- ments and good times and bad, but now that the junior year is over it has been the happiest year of them all.
