1 C aaa elvbsfore Step back with us into the days vf your childhood and remember that frrst day of school It was in S ptember 1938 that we first had our view of the school in which we would get our education Among the notables that year and for all the years to follow were Anita Brown Joan Fletcher, lwancy haunt Connie Jayne, Jean Watts Marilyn Luce Marcre Day Irrr De Land, Charles Ray Earl Iverson Ronald Vreeland Melva Stanclrff and Leonard Yother We spent our first and second grades with Mrs Scoxrlle who tried to teach us to read and write During our second year Barbarr yyymer Gertrude Doney and Donna Herr joined us from hldred with Jane Bechtol who came from Jackson In our tlnrd grade Mrs Sanford introduced wild Indians to her Indian lore and in that year Anrbel Denny Joined the tribe lrder the guidance of Mrs Pickering in the fourth and fifth grades we gained knowledge and also Fred Pierce and Mary Goodband We received our pre Junior High School training from the standard instruction of Mrs Foster and while enjoying the last of our grade school prrvrieges, we gained Shirley Hansel In the seventh and eighth grades we had a various number of teachers which was very rnterestrng, but confusing In those two years we acquired the following new students Shirley Latson Charles Hawver Max Heckaman Marion Fuller Bruce Campbell larry Schrumpf Jim Preston and Don Ray School During this year, we won the C arnrval Queen Contest with Jane Bechtol as our candr date We also won these new prizes Don Gier, Tom Bowen, Suzanne Slayton, and Ted Phillips Our Sophomore year started under the leadership of Nirs Richardson we be an our money making projects and started planning oar senior trip We enlarged our class with Eddie Harris Bob Drnnnrrond and Shirley and Tom Patton At last we were Junrorsl T help our success, we had our candidate Marcia Day capture the title of Carnival Queen She also wor the coveted honor of Student Council President We ordered and purchased our class rings this year Our play One 'yiad Night introduced many theatrrcal artists to the tvs rld D rlng this year we also gave eur Junior Senror Banquet which was a great oecurrence for us lxow in the final year of our life at Ixapoleon we have Jin Gaunt Grarlene Thurman, and Barbara Adkins with us to graduate Niany of us have our graduation pictures and are look ing forward to graduation when we shall wear our caps and gowr receive our diplomas, and at last leave on orr wonderful trio thro rg' XNasl'Lngtor1, D C a rd New York City Finally oet we go into the world as educated men and women ne longer boys and girls 16 e I I ' '- e ' V ' 1 .
