,Q WWW WWW 73, 544 eww Ldfheew-aJM1z.J The Lamps of the Years Cast a Warm Glow Rapxdly the star of the class of '50 xs disappearing beyond the horzzon, and w1th xt the memories and hxgh school lxfe of its members But let xt gleam for a moment on a morning four years ago Finally entering as hrgh school students stfll under the dxrectlon of our advisor Mr Hugh Howland, we were faced by more dlffxcult classes and new routme Like all green Freshmen, we found It hard to adjust ourselves to the new and dxfferent responsrblhtles we would have to undertake At last came our Sophomore year, and the thought that soon we would be upperclassmen What satlsfactxon to see the Freshlesu trying to adjust themselves as we had The classes were becommg more and more dxfficult wxth pesky angles and smelly dissected frogs and pickled pigs eyes holdmg the spothght As juniors we realized we had to start makxng money for our Semor trxp We held dances, sold candy and pop at basketball games as well as durmg noon hours Class ring measurements were taken and the realization that graduatlon was not too creased our excxtement We held it lh the school gym to begln a new precedent We put on the jumor play Everythxng on Ice The thrxll of our coming Semor year was suddenly dxmmed by the unexpected death of a good fnend and wonderful classmate B111 Bouldrey The apex of our high school lxfe was finally here, we were Senxors We said it over and over just to be sure xt was true The last s1x months began wxth the thrxll of Senior pxctures, no mxrades of photography were achleved, as yet, much to the dxsappozntment of some of the members Oh! We had a prevxew of the Cap and Gown Feehng lnvxtatxons were ordered and sent to all of our friends and relation spreadxng the glad news afar Practice for the class play was begun agam The hard work and great expectlon IS all 1n the past, but the empty feeling xn the pxt of our stomach when we appeared on stage, that memorable fxrst performance comes back as nf xt were only yesterday The junior and Senior banquet was held and was very much enjoyed by all Finally graduatzon the recexvmg of our dlplomas, of havmg our names read off as we proudly stand to let our frxends and relatwes see your last act as a hxgh school member Now we are ready for the partlng of the ways As our class motto says, To Strive to Seek, to Find, but not to Yield Z8 h V Q i . .
