Tae-Kwon-Do The Tae-Kwon-Do club is in its third year of existence. The year started out in August when the 1983- I 984 club members did a demonstration for incoming freshman and their parents. The group trained in cafeteria 60 and at the West Chicago Tae-Kwon-Do school in preparation for the three promotion y p pp tests held in September '84, December y, '84, and March '85, An additional A T' ' demonstration took place in May '85 for touring freshman. Outside of school, the -44 i club helped do a Tae-Kwon-Do program 1 Q G I I , for the handicapped. National Honor Society The National Honor Society promotes outstanding scholarship, leadership, character, and service within NCHS and the community. New members are elected each spring. The officers were Tom Lullo lPresidentJ, Walt Sedlacek Nice-Presidentl, Mike Borghesi fTreasurerJ, and Anne Vansco QSecretaryJ. Under the direction of Mr. Pugh and Mr. Lyons, the National Honor Society provided a Student Help Center, participated in the Homecoming parade, and the SAC Winter Carnival. They also sponsored a car wash to raise money for a scholarship awarded to a senior member. Other events included helping with the eighth grade orientation evenings, having a Christmas Party and volunteering in various community projects.
