519451 fri 53,3 GWR' Edward W. Solomon Principal Progress is our theme. What progress have you made this year? Have you made progress in developing a burning ambition to learn? To learn each minute of each class? With this desire to learn, school becomes much more enjoyable. What you have learned can then be transposed into progress in your own total life. Your total life involves more than school. It involves your home, your neighborhood, your church, and your community and nation. What you learn will help you function in an enjoyable manner. I trust that you have had the zeal this year to really progress in wanting to learn. Progress was found in student government with the desire by the student leaders to have greater self-government in their school. With this self-government came greater responsibilities. Many of the challenges of self-government were accepted and progress was made. Progress was made in the field of athletics. Many boys had an opportunity to progress in their physiological development and meet success. They also learned how to meet defeat. Progress was made in the ultimate conclusion of the land- scaping of the school. You were able to see the bald spots get some life. As they flourished and progressed, the campus took on a more complete coat of green. The greatest progress I hope each student has made is in being true to himself. By knowing himself he becomes a whole person in all areas of his daily life. Did you make progress in this area? Progress comes only as you look up at high horizons and goals. Did you make progress this year in lifting up your goals? My congratulations to the Yearbook Staff and Mr. Wolter on another fine yearbook! Edward W. Solomon Principal Frank Humpert Dean of Boys Acting Principal Dorothy McKinnon Dean of Girls s-f Z',,,A Austin Kelly Dean of Student Activities
