Robert Jones Growing Pains was the play given by the Class of 1935 on April 12. Mrs. McIntyre and the abstracted Professor, Mr. McIn- tyre, are worried over the growing pains of their two children. George, the son, is suffering from adolescence. His sister, Terry, who has not yet awakened to her budding womanhood, still clings determinedly to her status of tomboy. Suddenly, however, Terry blossoms out with a pair of French heels and her first formal, anld George swaps a gun for an old fender- less, hoodless car. On the day before Terry and George's party, Prudence Darling, a bewitching flirt, joins the neighborhood gang. George and Brian, Terry's flame, fall for her silly line. Miserable over Brian's change of heart, Terry experiments, using Prudence's tactics, but fails. During the party, George, going after more ice cream, is followed by a traflic oflicer, who insults Prudence. George knocks him down and is forthwith taken to jail. The last act shows George desolate because Prudence acknowl- edges that she is engaged to an old man of twenty-six. Terry re- covers her equilibrium and deserts her high4heeled slippers for the beloved skates. When a new girl appears upon the scene, George, realizing that after all, his heart may be broken a second time, ex- claims, Hot Diggity Dog!

Ray Holmes Four short years have passed like magic, and inexperienc-- ed youngsters who entered Napa High in '31 are leaving,- f our years older, four years larger, and many years wiser. In a few short weeks, the Class of '35 will be, instead, a group of separate individuals, each with his own life to carve. Important ofiicers of this class have been Dave York and William Aldrich, who wielded the gavel of the student body for a semester each, Barbara Bentley and Margaret Green, both presidents of Girls' League: and Attilio Musante and Neil Haeckl, who steered the Senior craft through the shoals. In the field of athletics, Frank Cleets Petrillo, Ed Algeo, Ronald Green, and Miles Butler have been outstanding foot- ball players. Butler captained the varsity, and Green, the B's. Gilbert Yates, James Tierney, and Frank Watson have made their marks in basketball. At a dance given by the Seniors on April fifteenth, Mel Hein's nine-piece orchestra contributed excellent music. The decorations of woolly lambs and furry-legged satyrs lent a springtime atmosphere. With expenses ranging at nineteen dollars, about fifty dollars was added to the Senior treasury. The J uuior-Senior Prom was, of course, the major formal event of the year. Senior activities began in earnest with the selling of tickets for Growing Pains , the planning for Sneak Day fand was it kept secret this yearljg the training for the regattag and the organizing for Class Night. Then followed the more serious arrangements for Baccalaureate, graduation dresses and speakers, and the nervous struggle amidst all of the ac- tivity to keep the sheepskin safely within reach. After our experiences together, it is with mixed feelings of eagerness and regret that the Class of '35 become members of the large and confused world outside. Eagerness to find what lies around the corner struggles with regret that we cannot stay longer beneath the sheltering arm of Napa High.
