Are you looking for a club with the highest ideals and standards in the high school? Do you wish to associate with persons who have attained scholastic achievement? XN'onld you like to be a person admired and respected by more unfortunate people? Under our capable leader, Miss Lallflantia, we hope to achieve our greatest aims-to be respected by all, and to become better citizens of tomorrow. As an example of our growing influence on the school, twenty-six new mem- bers were taken into the club in October. Nearly everyone in the club attended the party in October. VVe all had an enjoyable evening. To become a member. one must not only possess scholastic abilities but also personality and good character. The final decision of eligibility in our society rests with our high school faculty. 40 The 1949 Echo . ' ur-vs

Actually, they were the new members of the Commercial Club being initiated. Initiations were followed by a grand party at the Teen Can- teen with lots of exciting games and plenty of food. This is the 19th Anniversary of the Commercial Club, one of the oldest clubs in the school. Many students have entered and graduated from our Grand Old lligh School, and, we are proud to say, a large number of them have been active members of the Commercial Club. The Commercial Club has been under the direction of Mr. Yingling for a good many years. Mr. Zanzuccki, Mrs. Dropcho, and Mrs. Tindiglia have also had a part in its activities. Our major activities this year will be the annual trip to Cambria-Rowe Busi- ness College, the annual Minstrel, and the end-of-the-year picnic. So until next year. Commercial Club, carry on. 42 The 1949 Echo
