FRESHMEN President-Rose Rudolph Secretary-Mar-faret Roman Vice-President-Donna Lee Murray g Treasurer-Andrew Wadium Advisors-Mr. Truby, Mr. O'Donnell On August 30, l948, a group of bewildered pupils entered the doors of Nanty-Glo lligh School. We were extremely excited and uncertain as to what our future as students would be here. Under the capable leadership of Mr. Truby and Mr. U'Donnell, a llalloween party was held in the Study Ilall. Decorations were hung, prizes were awarded for costumes, and delicious food was Cll- joyed by all. Hur next activity was a dance at the Miners' llall. VVe were happy that this event turned out to be a huge success. The 1949 lirlzo Mid-terms are here and half of the year has passed away. Only four more months of school and then we will be Sophomores. The time is hurrying hy and February, March, and April have passed leaving behind memories of work combined with pleasure. Now we are HCI'LllllllllIlgu all we have learned in preparation for the final exams. As we see the end of May approaching we are eagerly anticipating returning to school next year as Sophomores. 31

VVe were looking forward to the coming yearywhich would hold so much for our fnturefwith a look of determination and eagerness. Under the supervision and help- of Mr. Ruige we went forward swiftly, carrying out all our 30 Secretary-Phyllis Rhoades TreasurerARose Romagnino -Mr. Buige plans. VVe ordered our pins and rings during the first half of the year, VVe are a large class, numbering ninety-tive in all. VVe began our social activities with a Fresh- 1nen VVelcome Dance at the Slavish Ilall in October. Later on we had a class party on Jan- uary lO at the Miners' Hall with each member bringing a guest.
