The purpose of this meeting was to have nominations for officers. Yigorous campaigning by the candidates and their friends filled the high school for a week before the ballots were presented and ofiicers elected. With capable officers to lead them the juniors set about planning their activi- ties for the coming year. The first occasion was the Thanksgiving Dance at the U.M.XY.A. hall which proved to be an overwhelming success. Two skating parties and a Christmas Turkey Raffle marked the end of the first semester activi- Tlu' 1040 lfflm ties-mid-semester exams were looming darkly overhead. lixams over and everybody happy, the juniors turned to their social plans once again. The junior Class Party held in january proved to be most unique, entertaining and hilarious. This was followed by an old-fashioned sleigh ride. Two teams of horses were hired and off went the jun- iors into the neighboring hills to enjoy lirandma's sport-sleighing. Two more skating parties and an liaster llam Raffle brought to a close the minor juniors. Attention was now activities of the focused upon the affair of the year-The From. VVe were looking forward to the coming yearywhich would hold so much for our fnturefwith a look of determination and eagerness. Under the supervision and help- of Mr. Ruige we went forward swiftly, carrying out all our 30 Secretary-Phyllis Rhoades TreasurerARose Romagnino -Mr. Buige plans. VVe ordered our pins and rings during the first half of the year, VVe are a large class, numbering ninety-tive in all. VVe began our social activities with a Fresh- 1nen VVelcome Dance at the Slavish Ilall in October. Later on we had a class party on Jan- uary lO at the Miners' Hall with each member bringing a guest.
