The boys came second on Vancouver Island after winning the North Island playoff (undefeated in North Islands). In the playoff for the B.C. ISLANDERS GIRLS ' BASKEBALL The 1984-85 basketball season was the best in fifteen years for the Islander gin ' s. The season started with exhibition games and tournaments. The girls took first place in the Chilliwack Tournament and later in January won the consolation round of the Steveston Tourney. In league play the girls won the North Island League as well as the Vancouver Island Championships. The girls then travelled to Prince George to the B.C. High School AA Championships. This was a sixteen-team tournament and the final standings showed NDSS placing eleventh. Overall season record for the girls was 23 and 1 1 . 117
