MISS N H S Coleen Lane THE 1967 WILDCAT NAHUNTA HIGH SCHOOL Nahunta, Georgia I ABOVE - 1st; ELEMENT ART SCHOOL 2nd; NAHONTA HIGH SCHOOL Left - GYMNASIUM THE HISTORY OF N. H. S. The Nahunta High School has progressed rapidly since the beginning of its existence. The Nahunta Grammar School we now have has served us as the high school from 1928 to 1953, then a new building was constructed and the old high school was turned into the grammar school. The new high school has served the citizens of Nahunta from 1954 to 1967. The superin- tendents reigning since the beginning of N. H. S. were Mr. Everett Knox, Mr. Bob Thomas, Mr. E. L. Sears, Mr. Herschel Herrin, and our present superintendent, Mrs. Mable Moody. We the Senior Class of 1967, should like to dedicate this edition of the WILDCAT, to our parents. It seems as if it were only yesterday when our mothers and fathers were doctoring our skinned knees and giving us the strongly needed love and attention needed to make us normal, healthy and most of all. happy children. Well, yesterday is gone and today makes tomorrow’s memories. We all must admit that our parents, in their own simple ways, have made our memories pleasant and happy ones. They help us when we fall, and they’ve given us the encouragement needed to see us through these past years. With heart- felt gratitude, we thank you for seeing us through our twelve years of school, for our school days will be the happiest ones of our life. But most of all, we thank you for being the best friends a child can have. a ADMINISTRATION PRINCIPAL Mr. A. L. Sutton TO THE SENIORS OF 1967 If during your stay at this school you have found that you can happily and successfully live with your fellow man, our efforts have not been in vain. Al- though it is my first year at Nahunta High and your last, my association with you and the faculty has been a pleasant one. I hope that you have set your goals in life high and that you will work hard to achieve these goals. When you entered school 12 years ago, you never dreamed that your graduating class would be the last at Nahunta High. This is merely a way of pointing out our progress in the county. What will you be 12 yean from now? Your life has not been wasted. It is only beginning. Let it be a worthy one that everyone will be proud of. Congratulations to you and your editor and staff for the fine annual and for her hard work and diligent work in making this final Wildcat” a success. Sincerely, A. L. SONG: Never Walk Alone MEMORIES EDITOR’S COMMENTS Well, the year is almost gone and we can truly say it has been a glorious one, I feel I can speak on behalf of my staff as well as for myself. Working on our yearbook has been an experience we shall never forget. We set our goals high and we have worked hard and long to reach them. We are proud of our accomplishments and we have learned from our mistakes. We should like to express our appreciation to Mr. Mrs. I. J. Davis for the use of their lovely home in making our superlative pictures. We also wish to thank Mr. Brantley for his cooperation and the use of the bank. Again we thank you! 1 personally, as Editor of the yearbook, would like to thank Mrs. Sutton for her advice, ideas, and hard work. Her patience is unbelievable, but appreciated. Since this is the last graduating class from N. H. S. we tend to over emphasize our sentimental values, but many memories lie between the walls of our school and we feel our feelings justified. GOOD LUCK to everyone at Brantley County High from the annual staff of 1967!
